Logitech X 530 speakers

I rencently received a set of Logitech X 530 5.1 surround sound speakers as a gift for my graduation. I have a 12 inch powerbook and I know that the powerbook is dual channel. So when i hook up the speakers only two of them play. I have found the M-audio Sonica theather and Firewave USB 5.1 surround sound convertors but they are two pricy for me. Is there another way for all three speakers to play without buy a convertor, but by buying a simple 3 way y adapter from radio shack. Such as this
