logitech z-5500s discontinued?

Every online and brick&morter store has them sold out or backordered, and I have learned that this has been the case for some weeks now. There are also rumors that the 5500 are discontinued. What's the story here? Even logitech's online store doesn't have any in stock. I was hoping to have ordered these this weekend, but I am growing impatient and if Logitech does clarify the situation here soon, I'll just end up going with the Klipsch Promedia Ultra.

I dunno. They've been around for a while so it's possible something new is coming out. Have you checked eBay?

Also have you considered the Z-5450? They're the same speakers but the rear satellites are wireless.

I considered the Z-5450s when I was looking, but read a bunch of reviews from people who had big problems with interference with the wireless rear speakers. So, if you go that route, be wary!
