This, of course, is the problem with all subscription programs... Napster is not alone, but hopefully lots of press will freak out the labels. Obviously the same thing could happen to iTunes songs, but at least they are paid for the song. With the subscriptions, the labels are supposed to get paid by how many times the songs are played, so if they are only played once to make the copy, the label and artist get the short end.

DRM WILL always be cracked. No DRM scheme is ever infallible. With that in mind, Napster-To-Go is an unmitigated disaster.

The problem was an advertising scheme that almost dares you to contradict it... and when that happens, they look like the butt of their own joke.

In that sense I guess "do the math" is the stepchild of "read my lips".
