I brought a new Macbook Pro 17inch with Hi-Res Screen. It was dispatched last friday but the delivery time is a joke. According to the order status it wont be delivered until the 20th September. One day shy of 2 weeks!!

Surely it will not take that long to deliver :confused:I check the status but all it says is:

In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule 09 Sep 2007

Nothing, useful and seems to seldom be updated. There is no delivery tracking number or delivery company mentioned. It simply states:

Carrier Tracking Number
In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly
Assigned Carrier
In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly

Anyone else experience this? Does it really take that long?

Also, I can't find a e-mail for apple to ask about the order. Namely, why it's not updating and why there are no carrier details yet. So if you had the e-mail, it would be useful :)

Thank you

If you didn't pay for faster shipping you are at the mercy of Apple's Shipping and whatever company is shipping it.

The Stig

All the apple stuff we get through UPS is shipped at “Standard” service level, nothing is shipped at Express, UPS Saver, Expedited or Express Saver so that would lead me to believe either everyone orders with standard shipping or the UK Apple store only ships items by Standard Service level.

have you tried tracking through apecode.com ? - of course it won't actually mean you get it any faster....

Only one option. Standard. I could cope with the time better if it was certain but it's not. It could come anytime and I have no idea where it is. I work so I cannot be in everyday for the next 2 weeks until they decide the deliver the product I paid for. It's awful service

before you get TOO excited, I think that the 13th refers to its arrival at the european hub in the netherlands. if so it'll take 3 more days or so to get you.

Here is the tracking for my long awaited MBP

10 sep 07 32 55 flight departed Apple Shanghai 13 sep 07

09 sep 07 32 05 Flight Booked Kuehne & Nagel Shanghai 13 sep 07

08 sep 07 30 63 handover at supplier Apple Shanghai 13 sep 07

07 sep 07 00 04 Picking confirmed, EDI received Apple Shanghai 13 sep 07

07 sep 07 30 64 Departed from source Kuehne & Nagel Shanghai 13 sep 07

Kuehne & Nagel are a transport company

Its doubtful UPS will deliver it on a Saturday, but you could phone up and request a service level upgrade to Saturday delivery (this is very expensive by the way) or you could call them and arrange a collection from your nearest UPS depot, The customer service phone number is 08457 877877

Hope this helps :)
