I have the series 1 and I am going from UK to Australia. I would like to not have to charge my watch. Is there a best practice for this. Airplane mode obviously, does this turn things off like step count, heart rate etc though.

Thanks.

You can always utilize lower power mode. Which essentially only allows you to view the time. But it will conserve battery until you opt to power the Watch on to full function. Otherwise, Airplane mode as well.

I forgot about low power mode!

I think it depends on what you want from your watch during your journey. Power saving mode is useful in that it preserves the time telling ability of your watch, but that’s all and you can probably get the time from your in flight entertainment system.

I’d probably look at the watch chargers on amazon - whilst I’ve not used one, they’re small and enough to recharge your battery during your first flight so it’s 100% when you land. That way you can count steps etc during any transfers.

I’m in the UK and I used a combination of power saving mode and the usb phone cable id put in my hand luggage along with my Anker battery to charge my iPhone and watch during my flight to the US.

Airplane mode + Cinema mode got me through a 7 hour flight with plenty to spare. With no connectivity there was little need to actually wear it, except it was super useful once we'd landed and my phone had picked up the new cell network, allowing the time to adjust automatically.
