It saddens me to have to pass the following message on to our membership. I received this message this afternoon from "Informa" who are the new owners of Mac Forums. Mac Forums was sold to Penton by iNET. Penton is owned by "Informa" a large corporation located in San Francisco.

Looks like Mac Forums is closing up shop. From the note (excerpt above), it appears MacRumors member @chscag is an admin there.

Yes, he is an admin. there. The news was posted 24 December in MacForums News and Announcements and is the top thread - Mac Forums Shutting Down. It gives me NO pleasure to know that. Chscag sent me a message saying a new forum is under construction but is not ready for some time. He also is on this forum. Herm

Wow, that was the first site that I joined before finding macrumors. I haven't logged in there since about 2007.
