Does anyone know if there is an accessory or antenna or something so I could access my offices wifi 2 miles away? Is this even possible?

wifi doesn't work like that, the sender and the receiver have to be able to hear each other. things like point to point wireless with higher gain antennas is possible but it has to be built like that. office wifi in most cases use AP units with built in antennas which would never go that far.

Is p2p wireless with high gain antennas something any IT guy can build for money? Or is it significantly cost prohibitive like thousands of dollars?

I normally only deal with enterprise grade products and they are expensive. You can use something like ubiquiti thats cheaper but it depends on what your trying to do. in your example it would be impossible unless you control the IT department as P2P is not standard.. for example if you want to make a connection to a Cisco device you need a cisco device (in some instances thats not the case but general rule of thumb)...

you would be better off using VPN or something

I use Microtik stuff. I basically control the IT stuff and can do whatever I want provided it isn’t crazy expensive but maybe this just isnt practical.

what is up with those yagi usb wifi antennas? Those probably have a range around 1/2 mile or so?
