Greetings,

Does anyone know of software that will record long time periods? I wanted to record a conversation yesterday between a few friends and myself so I used Garage Band but when we looked to save it the track was gone. I think Garage Band maybe has a limit of recording time? Is there a good solution?

Thanks!

Hi,

a friend of mine uses Audio Hijack Pro to record lectures at university (several hours). It records directly to mp3 so it probably can go on for a long time.

Otherwise I can recommend the free Audacity.

Hope this does the job for you.

If you are going to be using it enough you should just go with Audio Hijack Pro as it can preview and compress on the fly saving you time and space. If your just going to record once or twice you can't go wrong with Audacity since it's free (the editing is more accurate than Gargeband anyway).
