Long-Term Effects of Prolonged WiFi Streaming?

The 3GS is my first iPhone and I plan on using it extensively for internet radio streaming. I was curious if the phone is up to the challenge of, for example, 4 to 6 hours of constant streaming when placed in the docking station and using WiFi and/or 3G. Is this likely to cause any harm or affect the battery-life?

all the time I stream radio over 3G and sometimes wifi overnight 7+ hours while im sleeping cause it helps me go to sleep, also I have it plugged in.
