long term trip to states - any pre pay sim for ip4 data?

Hi all, i hope you can help me. Im going to be spending a month in the states and would like to use my uk iphone 4 for data, mostly skype and facebook.

Is there a sim only pre pay card i can buy for ip4 that will give me maybe 1gb of data and a one month validity? My phone is factory unlocked.

Completely clueless here so any help is greatly appreciated!

Ps - will have access to wifi on evenings, just need 3G data during the day.

you can cut a prepaid gophone sim from AT&T to fit your iphone 4. Although data is kind of pricey but you can get it. 500MB for $25/month. so if you need the 1gb it'd be $50.

if you really want data only (absolutely no calls or texts) then you can get an ATT microsim and activate it using an iPad 3G (here) but when you activate it, you will need a iPad IMEI

You will get Edge only speeds I believe though, right?

I keep forgetting that, but yes that's correct. As I'm only going to be there for 2 weeks and will have wifi where I am staying, I'm happy enough with that.

Hm i have an ipad 3g that i will be taking with me, was just going to use it on wifi. I dont need calls or texts as ill have a company 'dumb phone' for that. I just want data for skype calls and facebook access so i can keep ny family updated as i go. Because of the time difference i wont be on wifi at times that would suit calling home!

Can i just go to an at&t store and pick up a micro sim for the ipad? That sounds like the best bet for me. I bought the ipad in florida and had an at&t sim, never activated it and chucked it away not expecting to need it!
