Hola guys,
I was just reading through some old threads and was wondering, who is the oldest serving MR member??
I'm sure other people are curious too. The longest serving that i have found is blakespot but who was the first?
Thanks guys

?

Yes, it's blakespot...well before the vBulletin system was rolled out. I'm not sure how that all played out.

Click on Members List, then Search Members List --> Advanced Search. Down near the bottom, choose to sort by Join Date in Ascending Order and you'll get everybody in order.

Arn is founding member.

Yes, arn owns the site, but it looks like blakespot and others were playing around with the current forums idea long before it went public and arn joined in.

With all this interest in the site there should be a little back story on how the site came to be explaining the history.

Well, arn gave a very brief overview several years ago.

Durandal7 also gave a nice synopsis of the history around the same time.

Who was the chosen one that Durandal7 was talking about in his account of the history of macrumors??

It was spikey. Not really the "chosen one" though...that was more of a joke. He made a name for himself as a short-lived, prolific poster who could be a bit argumentative. Here is a thread questioning his whereabouts during one of his bannings. Clearly it wasn't his final banning, as he showed up in the thread, but he was gone for good within days after that.

Nor would i if arn owns the site. He is obviously the founder of the website but maybe blakespot founded the forums and then people joined before arn did.

It's also possible that they modified the join dates. After all, MacRumors had a different forum system before vBulletin, and they probably carried over the users (and join dates) from the old forum software.
