Hi Folks,

My first MBP (2009) lasted 4 yrs, gave it to nephew, still running. Current MBP is 2011. Never had hardware failure. What would you say is the order of failure on a longterm MBP? Hard drive first, keyboard issues?? Any screen problems on the older, non retina models? Thanks.

I've got 5 years on my MBP. No problems. Still runs as well as day one.

Glad to hear that it's working out well for you.

I'd say it depends on the particular usage. Someone that uses their keyboard hours, daily, instead of using an external keyboard, is probably more likely to see their keyboard go before someone that doesn't.

If you run a lot of intensive applications a lot, you're fans might be needing replacement sooner than those that don't (as they will be running higher/faster).
