My old 4th gen iPod photo!

It turns out my mom took it from me about two years ago (apparently I was being an ass). The other night she was cleaning her room and she found it and gave it back to me.

It works great and has about 4 hours of battery life with the backlight on and about 5-5.5 hours of battery life with the backlight off. I am one happy boy right now!:D:D:D

Sweet.

I found my 3rd Gen ipod (B&W) about 9 months ago while I was moving. It was kind of a trip to see the menus in B&W with no cover art.

I love it when things like this happen. Like you get an old pair of trousers that you never wear (Like only to weddings maybe) and find some money in them... makes my day!

And those old iPods bring back memories...

Awesome. That's actually a 4th generation iPod, or an iPod Photo, I think they were called. The original 4th gen had a black and white screen and then they came out with the color screen version that could display photos. I think that's what this one is. But either way, I'll bet it's nice to have it back.

4th was B&W, Photo was lovely colour. What you have there kiddo is a Photo! Wait... :D

My girlfriend has my 3G iPod. Doesn't want a new one because she prefers the full touch controls and there isn't a Touch yet big enough for her music library. Can't say I blame her! I miss the 3G touch buttons

Wow! I had the exact same iPod as you. I let my dad use it after I got a iPod Classic. I actually really miss it and how the build quality was better. Every now and then it sometimes has hard drive problems. The hard drive is the weakest point on these models.:apple:
Enjoy it!

What I find slightly more intriguing is that your mom took it away from you and you didn't even realize it...

With all those scratches, you can tell it got a lot of use.... :)
Oh, you bet! It was my first iPod so it was loved very much. :)
If it was taken from you, did she not tell you and you had simply thought that you lost it...or did she take it and you simply forgot about it?

Correct. She took it from me and I didn't know she did. So I thought I lost it or it got stolen when I took it to school. After six months, I just gave up on it but I have it now and I'm happy!:D

That's awesome. That design is my favorite out of every iPod ever made (The 4G/Photo design) I used to have a 4G 20 GB iPod. (B&W) Wish I hadn't sold it.:(

Great that you got it back, I hope you can actually use it now. :)

I'm still trying to figure out what you did that deserved two years punishment.
I think what happened was...

I was being defiant so she took it away from me. After a couple months, she forgot about it and so did I (after all, I had an iPod nano). A while later the iPod w/ video came out and I got that and I forgot about the photo all together.

Has your music taste changed since then?

I like to listen to my old cd's that I found in the back of my cd case (covered in dust) and listen to my old music. I either a) start to like the music again or b) wonder what I was on

Yeah I love finding money in my pockets.. a couple of months ago when I was cleaning my closet and going through my pants I think about three of them had some cash! :D

my ipod photo has outlasted my ipod video.. the 3yr bby replacement program runs out on it this year i think.

the ipod video still works, but the battery is shot and the click wheel is posessed..

works good as a storage drive for myummmmmm... movies and stuff

Lucky! I have one of those too; they're great iPods. Unfortunately, the hard drive on mine failed one month after the warranty ended after being replaced two months before the warranty ended.

Now you know how archeologists feel when they dig up those dinosaur bones.

Very cool find. But seriously, dude, how could you 'forget' your mom took it away?

I think his mom stole it from his room while he wasn't there and he thought he lost it but really his mom took it.

me dumb. You'd think mom wouldn't told him if she took it, otherwise discipline wouldn't be connected with the loss at all and therefore no bad experience associated with the 'ass'-like behaviour.
