"Mid 2009 MacBook Pro, 250gb hard drive, 5gb of ram. Good laptop but the video card is going out so the screen will flash pink sometimes but if you move the screen it will go away"

I have some experience replacing components on PC's. If it is a dedicated graphics card, can it be that hard to replace? :)

Considering he says that moving the screen makes the "pink flash" go away, it makes me thing it's a display ribbon cable, not a graphics card. Not necessarily an easy fix, but cheaper than a full logic board replacement.

I kind of wondered the same thing....
