I do a lot of typing, so I have decided that it might be best to get an external keyboard to use with my Macboo Pro. Some of the ones that I am considering are the Apple wireless keyboard(Does the small size make this one uncomfortable for extended periods of typing?), and the Saitek Eclipse II(I like the looks of this one, but just wish it had bluetooth....has anyone here tried using it with a Mac?). I would love to hear any suggestions as to what would be the best Mac compatible keyboard for doing lots of typing. :apple:

I use the Apple Wireless Keyboard with my MBP. Best keyboard I've ever seen or used! Incredible battery life (8+ months) and doesn't eat up desk space. Very comfortable to use. I'm on it 12-16 hours a day, every day.

I found one of the old Apple bluetooth keyboards, with numberpad, on Ebay for cheap...

China

+2 for Wireless Keyboard

But how do you guys get 8 moths on yours, the most i get is about 1 or 2 for about the same usage as you?

But very good keyboard, same typing space as wired one but minus the num pad

Not sure what cheap is but if "the land of art and computers" is anywhere near the east bay. I'll part with my older bluetooth keyboard for 30 bucks.

Apple cabled keyboard

1) Amazing for gaming, and becoming the choice for gamers

2) Has a number pad which the wireless one doesn't have

3) Dont need batteries, one single neat USB cable, which is very very long

4) It has a USB port on either side (two in total) which you can plug your wireless mouse adaptor, memory stick, camera, iPod or other USB device into to access data off it or charge it etc conveniently

5) Its much cheaper than the wireless one, and actually one of the cheapest keyboards around

Apple make the best keyboards at the moment - you'd be mad not to get one!

Thanks for the input everyone! I think I will go with an apple keyboard....just need to decide which kind. I have rarely ever used a number pad, so I'm not really worried about whether or not it has that option. I hadn't thought about getting a more inexpensive previous version, but that's a great idea.
