Looking for a new monitor...

What do you guys recommend as an external monitor for a macbook pro? I was looking at the LG W1952TQ but it is a tad expensive and I couldn't find any reviews. This is for a dorm room so I would like fast response time and somewhat high contrast ratio in order to play movies. Thanks.

Most LCDs today have good response time. I'd look into a Dell LCD, as they are often sold at good prices and have decent color and response time. Check dealmac.com.
