I'm opening up a retail store and service office for the computer repair business I run.

I'll have some light electronic items and used PCs etc.

I need a OSX point of sale that can do a few things:

1. Manage customers and businesses
2. Manage inventory
3. Work with a CC machine (optional since I'll be running CCs through my iPhone)
4. Export to Quickbooks or display sales taxe collected somehow

I'm currently using Billings on my Mac and phone but it has its limitations and I'm not a fan of how the item selection works, can be tedious.

I have tried QB PoS on my PC and that will be my fallback plan but I really don't want to have to use it.

Any ideas, comments, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

(Also I'd prefer to not break the bank on this...)

You might try PHP Point of Sale, you could run it with MAMP on your Mac, and access it with your iPhone or any other computer for that matter, or just access it at local-host.

Also, they have the option to pay them $5 a month and they'll host your site for you.

You can try their Demo to see what it offers and what you think of it. I believe the Download is free if you choose to run it yourself.
