I've run out of USB ports on my mac, and I need a program that lets me visualize whether my devices are getting enough power, whether they are Superspeed, or relegated to Hi Speed, and so on.

I have two hard drives, 2 SSDs, a scanner, a mechanical keyboard (with an in built hub), a really power hungry mouse, a couple of gaming devices, a graphics tablet, a scanner, and a DAC, and god knows what else, as well as the two or three hubs required to piece them together. I've run into some issues with my scanner not having enough bandwidth, and turning off glossy paper detection and page detection.

The System Report view of my USB tree is visually cluttered.. Are there alternatives that are easier to use-- allowing annotations, for instance?

That's out of date, but "Additional Tools for Xcode 11" (available on the developer site) contained the IORegistryExplorer, which caters to those who can read hex code. I suppose there's no better time to learn.

Thanks.
