Hi,
I am looking for a recommended iphone repair shop in NY (Manhattan) that can replace the iphone 3G's comm board (Wifi and BT).

The extended explanation is as follows:
  • My 4 months old iphone 3G was bought in the UK (O2 pay&go).
  • I am not living in the UK or in an Apple "enabled" country for that matter.
  • After a short while, wifi and BT died. this is not the "no mac address" issue. everything appears to be working normally but the iphone will just keep searching for networks and report non are found.
  • Apple UK said i should come to replace it - only i am not in the UK..
  • I am about to visit NYC shortly, but going to apple store there won't help (no international service for iphones).
Google came up with several repair shops:
http://www.justipodrepairs.com/
http://quickfixny.com/
http://www.tekserve.com/
but apparently they deal mostly with screens and not comm boards.

so - i am looking for a trustworthy place that can fix the iphone in Manhattan..
Many thanks.

Not sure about the first 2, but Tekserve is definitely a reputable third party Apple repair shop here. I'm not sure if they repair iPhone's however. I would suggest stopping at our local Apple stores anyway (we have 3 in Manhattan, one open 24hrs) to see if anything can be done. Depending on who helps out, they may be able to help in some fashion. Heck, I was able to get my original iPhone replaced when I cracked my screen. :)
