I currently have tried smcFanControl, Fan_Control, and Lubbo'sFanControl. At one point in time, I was using one that had a very simple layout, and made it easy to change your left and right MBP fan speeds at any time. Unforatuntely, I bought a new Mac, and no longer remember the name of the program.

I then tried a few I had heard of, as mentioned above. smcFanControl nor Fan_Control allowed me or worked when attempting to manually change fan speeds. I had thought that in the past I had used Lubbo's Fan Control, although this time I tried downloading it, I could only find it as an .exe file.

Any suggestions?

I have a MBP Retina (Late 2013) 8gb RAM model. And the reason is because it doesn't always do the best job.

Is it the 13" or 15" model. The 13" does only have one fan.

And what do you mean, it does not always do the best job? Does the Mac get too hot and shuts itself down like it would do in such case, but does not speed up the fan(s)?
