So i have m 3gs 2 years now, and since i dont need something better (it runs iOS, thats enough to have the perfect phone), i wanna buy a keyboard extension for my iphone.
A little search brought up these 2: http://www.google.gr/m/url?client=s...twIwAQ&usg=AFQjCNHeKCepbBp0YmkRKWXFsnzNxVya9w
And http://gadgetsmarket.com/iphone-3gs-4g-case-flip-keyboard/.
I wouldnt buy the second one because of the rotating keyboard (i want a slider).
The first one seems nice but i have a few questions. Because its connected with bluetooth, ill lose a lot of battery life.
Does bluetooth turn off when the iphone is sleeping?
Is there another slide keyboard for the 3gs , which connects with the port instead of bluetooth?
Or maybe a case with battery and keyboard(not likely)?
Sent from my iphone.

Bluetooth does use a lot of battery power from the iphone. I think that the bluetooth stays one even when the iPhone is sleeping. I really don't know of any keyboards that actually connect to the iPhone connection port.

So i have 2 options if i want a keyboard with my iphone:
1) have a battery life of less than 1 day, or
2) travel to settings-general-bluetooth-on each time i want to use the keyboard...

Unless i can make a shortcut of some sort to toggle bluetooth on/off. Is there such a thing, though?

if you are jailbroken, you can do that within SBsettings.

I downloaded "S2 SBsettings" but... I have no icon in my desktop neither in the settings. Where is it and how does it work? Or did I download the wrong app?
Cydia is a mess...
Also, I do have winterboard (which is required for SB to work).

sounds like you downloaded a theme for sbsettings. you need to download just 'SBsettings'. once you install it, respring/reboot. double tap the status bar to access SBsettings.

Woa i installed sbsettings and its freakin awesome.
Well, android has them by default, but as long as i can jailbreak my iphone, cant complain! I wonder why apple hasnt implemented this yet... And why the fk are the most brilliant apps on cydia and not app store?
Anyway, gonna probably get that keyboard now since i have fast access to bluetooth (and wifi and airplane mode, its great!!)

I was also thinking about getting a keyboard case. Bluetooth isn't going to be that much of a drain for you, as it hasn't for me. At most you lose about one hour of your battery life.

I think it may be a worthwhile investment based on videos of these things. After getting tired of the on screen keyboard myself, I think I want to order one.
