I am looking for a software that can handle basic bookkeeping, invoices, and (hopefully track shipments/orders).
The software must work on both pc's and macs (I suppose I could run vmware or something, and am not opposed to the idea if I can't find a program supported by both os's.)
I am running an import/export business where part of our purchases will be made in cash, and others made electronically. However, ALL of our sales will be exclusively cash (for the time being, although in the future, a smaller portion may be electronic).
I am working in Africa, in an area of the world where electronic payments don't exist, so keeping in mind that I will be using this software as a reference only, as it will not be tied directly to any accounts.
Internet is also NOT easily accessible, so it has to be a fully OFFLINE software. Syncing between computers will happen at specific times, and not in 'real-time'
Aside from an excel spreadsheet, what are my options? I have looked both on this site, and on google, and keep on coming up shorthanded, with almost all of my options revolving around online programs.
Is there anyone that has experience working in this kind of environment and found a suitable software?
I've heard great things about quickbooks, but wanted to get a more well rounded idea of what really is out there.
