I searched the archives and so I know that this questions has been asked before. I did not however see any satisfactory ("satisfactory to me") answers and so I thought I'd try again.
I have a growing collection of videos, mostly screencasts but also movies, etc. that I need to organize. That's one part of the problem. iTunes lumps all imported videos into the "Movies" category, without any straightforward way to organize them into groups (short of abusing some of the metadata fields such as Genre).
I currently use DEVONthink to organize my videos; this gives me the flexibility to store them in more than one place (folder), and it works pretty well. If I didn't have DEVONthink, I could likewise do this with a "plain old" folder structure on disk.
But I have another problem.
The other part of the problem is that I'd like to be able to "bookmark" my place in whatever video it is that I'm watching. If I pause the video 15 minutes into it, quit the application and then restart later, I should be able to pick up where I left off. (Ironically, iTunes does address this part of the problem.)
So: Has anyone run across a nice tool for organizing videos that solves both of these problems (and maybe some problems that I don't yet realize I have)?
