There is a Chrome plugin called "Markdown Here" which allows markdown to be generated. I'm not super familiar with it but it would be really amazing to be able to type markdown syntax into an email and have it generate an email which would display the appropriate formatting.
I've tried this: http://computers.tutsplus.com/tutor...-a-mac-with-markdown-service-tools--cms-21406 but of course this just turns the markdown into htm and only the html is displayed in the email..
