hey,

i want to modify some mp3's i have. there are mainly house music mp3's that i have and i would like to alter some of the bass intensity among things. what app might i use to get this done. i currently have garageband, audacity and audio highjack. im not sure if any of these will work or not or if i need some sort of DJ mixing software. any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

It really depends what you want to do.

Garageband would be great if you want to cut/paste or move parts of a song, or modifying the volume.

If that doesn't do what you want, then I am no help to you.

BTW to import a song into Garageband, open the file browser (bottom right) and find the file(s) in iTunes. Click and drag into Garageband. :)
