Looking for an application to gather info and artwork for tv shows/movies in itunes

basically I am trying to import my encoded backups of movies and such and organise them on itunes complete with info and artwork.

You can try MetaX to fill in info and artwork. It's what I've been using for my stuff. Movies are typically in their database. TV shows can be tricky, depending on what, if anything, is listed in their database as; episode title or tv show name.
