As per the title, looking for an audio conversion app for iPad. Anything to recommend?
Use case is to convert some regular mp3 downloads to allow me to use them when video editing. The downloaded files don't seem to play back unless I convert them. Doing this on the Mac with Mediahuman audio converter but looking for something similar on the iPad.

MP3 or AAC. As long as the resultant file with work with Lumafusion then all good.

Thanks for sharing that app. I did try it out but it crashes constantly so unfortunately of no use.

I found a coupe of alternatives - only issue is they are all subscription based. Would prefer something with a flat purchase. Will probably be sticking to the Mac for the time being.

I've found another one called 'Video Converter and Compressor' which also support audio converting from e.g. MP3 to AAC and has a Lifetime option (not sure which price you will see as I see prices between 19.99 dollar - 34.99 dollar), iPad support, privacy friendly and Family Sharing support, last update December 2025 (launched originally in 2019).

I do see a lot of positive reviews (when checking US App Store in the App Store as in that the conversion works great. They do however also write that the Lifetime users are receiving notifications to buy Lifetime even though they have it already which is minor annoyance even though the app does indicate they have Lifetime.

I see now that the same developer also has a dedicated audio cutter / converter / merger app called 'Audio Cutter Converter Merger', however somehow the app seems more expensive (19.99 dollar - 49.99 dollar lifetime) even though it only supports audio. I see this app was also launched back in 2019 and recently updated as well on the 2nd of January of this year, support iPads, Family Sharing, privacy friendly as well.

Thanks although I need an offline solution, this would be a back up option using the iPad when travelling or similar where I may not have data access.
