I know that there is a post already for a photo scanner but the member Vanmac seems to be looking for something a bit more pricy than me. I was hoping to pick up a decent scanner for no more than $150. I am currently doing digital photograpy but I have a lot of old negatives that I would like to be able to scan into my mac. Does anyone have any recomendations for a scanner in my meager price range?

I don't have this scanner, but MacWorld likes it

Hey Wordmunger.

From what I've gathered, most of the canon scanners seem to be pretty decent.

For you price range, you could get the :
LiDE 500F or 8400F

Thanks guys, I was hoping to get some personal experience from someone, but I appreciate your replys and will research all of your recommendations.

Thanks again :)

I own the 8400F and it works great. Im able to scan in negatives and slides and print out wonderful photos. It also can touch up photos. Well worth 150 for what it does.

staples has the hp4600 or something like that for $29.99...you could pricematch to office depot and get about $3 off of that

Thanks for your input. I have found the 8400 for as low as $123. The reviews look pretty good to. :) The only dilema now is the new ipod or a scanner! Thanks again

$29??? That price sounds too good to be true. I will check that one out next however.
Thanks
