I'm looking for an L-shaped Thunderbolt 3 (USB C style) extension (or adapter and purchase an extension cable separately) for my 2017 MacBook Pro 15 that will support both charging and the 40Gbps speed that Apple's tech specs state is supported on the MacBook Pro 15.

I see several adapters and cable extensions on Amazon, but am having trouble finding any that specify what version of USB they support. A couple mention supporting up to 5Gbp. Are the L-shaped adapters just "dumb" metal L-shaped things such that they don't need any special internals to support this, or do I really need to track down a specific adapter/extension?

Bonus points if it comes in white.

Edit: I guess I just realized that our ports are actually Thunderbolt 3, with a USB-C style connector, and Thunderbolt 3 supports up to 40Gbps. So that's really what I want. Post edited.

Update: I'm reading through this CNet article I found and learning even more:
https://www.cnet.com/how-to/usb-type-c-thunderbolt-3-one-cable-to-connect-them-all/

Apparently the 40Gbps speed is only attainable if the cable is short (0.5m) or is "active" (which I'm guessing means powered). I guess I don't really know if I need 40Gbps support...I should just say that I currently have USB-C-to-HDMI adapters sending signals to my two Dell U2518D 2560x1440 monitors, and am contemplating buying a 43" 4K TV to use as a monitor (possibly replacing both Dell monitors, or possibly using in addition to), so I need to be able to support those resolutions, but maybe that doesn't require 40Gbps speed?
