I am looking for suggestions for an easy workflow to move old photos from my Aperture library on my MacBook to a firewire HDD enclosure. Here is what I want to do:
1. Move my projects, albums, folders off my MacBook to free-up disk space;
2. Maintain my file structure for these photos within their projects, folders, albums;
3. Delete the photos from my Mac HDD
3. Be able to easily access these photos when I want to view, edit,make books, etc.;
4. All photos are masters and versions stored in my Aperture library (no referenced photos).
I was thinking about just selecting the items I want to delete on my Mac and export them to my Iomega firewire HDD into a new library. When I want to view them again, I can import the library into Aperture again. Would it be easier to move the masters from my HDD to the Iomega and just reference them in Aperture. Can I do this? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks
