I am looking for the best deal on a macbook pro for video editing I would per the 512 option, this computer will be used for video editing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think your best bets are to get a refurbished unit or use a student discount and buying in a state that doesn't charge tax. You can also buy from retailer that doesn't charge tax (amazon, etc).

Macmall has some specials sometimes.
 
Macconnection, Microcenter, refurbished, student discount, employer discount.
 
I had an employer discount, so I saved a little money. If I had wanted a "standard" configuration, I could have saved money via 3rd party reseller, since I would have saved with no tax and no shipping charges. But with the HIRES, AG, and 7200 rpm drive, it came out to be within $3 ordering from Apple. Then Apple surprised me by only charging state sales tax, and not city, so I saved $60. I guess since my zip code extends out of town, they got confused. They hadn't done this with previous orders.
