Looking for best way to upgrade SSD

I have an early rMBP that came with 256GB SSD.
Ran out of diskspace and ordered a 1TB SSD.

What is the best way to upgrade?
Mirror and grow the 256 on to the 1TB?

Or install the OS from scratch and reinstall the apps?

Did not see a stick on this.
