One problem I see with my upcoming 27 inch mac which is a minor problem with the 24 is that it needs to be further away from me.
My desk is in the middle of the room, under the ceiling fan, with shelves behind it. So I am looking for a good desk with some depth to it so that the iMac is as far from me as possible.
Since the current one I have is glass http://www.staples.com/office/supplies/StaplesProductDisplay?&storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=10051&partNumber=750723&cm_mmc=GoogleBase-_-Shopping-_-Furniture%253EL_Desks%252FCorner_Desks-_-750723-ZL1429-1DU I doubt I can mount a VESA to it. Oh, about that desk in the link, regardless of where they show the monitor it is useless there because that center shelf is too high to comfortably use.
I prefer glass desks that don't have a lot of crap beneath them (like the open look and so do my dogs) but I am willing to entertain the idea of something I can mount a VESA
