Looking for file search app.

There is a program for windows Finder or Find (not osx's finder) it can be copied to the ftp-server and then set the command and search for information on all the files in all directories , please tell me if there is anything like that to OS X, if possible with url where to download. beforehand thankful.

A command to seek information on all files within an area of the FTP server?

Or an executable, stored on (for example) an FTP server, that seek information on all files in an HFS Plus file system on a Mac?

i'm just looking for programs (for os x) with same functions that Find or Finder.

I see a 'Finder.exe' associated with at least one version of Microsoft Office but I'm not familiar with Office-related find features on Windows.
