Looking for free audio-edit app. (for win)

Yeah, I know this is a mac forum..

I've used audio editing on mac for years (logic audio 4... and now GB2),
and a friend of mine wondered if I could recommed a free and simple audio-editor,
like a simplified version of GB.

It only need to have 4-8 tracks and doesn't have to have multitrack recording or midi.

Is there a such app??

Not sure how many tracks it supports, but perhaps you/he could give Audacity a try.
