Im a new mac user and im looking for a copy of PS CS3 and maybe office for the mac too. Unfortunately, I'm only a student and I have no money. Ergh. So where can I find a cheaper alternative to buying these two? Is it possible if I download a PS CS3 torrent..

If you are a student, try your college. I know that they have an agreement where they sell Office to students for like $10. Adobe also has student pricing for CS3.

As an alternative to Photoshop, try Gimp, it's free.
As an alternative to Office, try NeoOffice or OpenOffice, they are both free.

Downloading from torrent is not acceptable.

Just a reminder: it is against forum rules to discuss where torrents may be downloaded for pirated software. However, it is not against forum rules to offer up cheaper alternatives or links to stores with cheap deals on software.
