Hi all...

We have been using MBPs and WD External My Book drives for the last couple years for field "dumps" of video...and transfer to and from different computers. We are using P2 media from Panasonic, HD video, so the files are big. On average from 10-60 gigs.

A buddy of mine gave me a drive the other day with our weekend project to dump on my production machine. It is a RocStor 100g (I think the "8" model) slim drive...BUT, it has FW 400/800 and USB. I want a pocket FW800 drive now, gotta have one:)

Just curious, what other options are available? I stopped by Best Buy yesterday to look, as I have had excellent luck with the WD FW800 externals, I checked the Passport models. One did, in fact, have FW400 and USB, but no 800. Also, they were much more expensive than the RocStor prices I have seen on line. The Lacies look like they are about twice as thick.

Any other choices? With the MBP and MacPro, I am hooked on FW800. In fact, I am looking at a PC Express card for more FW800 connectivity:)

Thanks

Jeremy
