I would like to upgrade the Intel GMA 950 graphics card of my old Macbook 2.1 (Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz - 64Mo VRAM - Snow Leopard).

I bought a 24" 1920x1080 iiyama screen, the ProLite E2409HDS-B1 and can't get higher res than 1600x900.
Maybe I'm wrong but wanted to try upgrading...

Where can I find the drivers? Been looking half the night.
Thanks for any help

Hey!

All 'drivers' or kernel extensions are managed by apple. Any updating to these is done via software update, so if they're not in software update then I dont know what to advise.

thanx I didn't know that. I tried running software update but couldn't find any upgrade related to the graphic card.

I usually don't like upgrading from the web cause if I have a crash then it won't let me reinstal my system from an older OS on the DVD.
Is it possible that the video card upgrade I'm looking for is present but just not mentionned in the software update description?
I'm still running 10.6.
Do you think it might help upgrading?

I have never had a problem with Software Update in over 6 years, go for it. Update until there's nothing left to update. If anything GMA950 was updated, it would be in a package such as the 10.6.8 build, not a specific video card "driver" update.
