Looking for Graphics Card Upgrade Advice

I'm new here and don't know a ton about computers.

I'm looking to upgrade my video card and wanted to seek advice on which one would be the best video card.

Have no idea where to start. Apple cards are a bit pricey...

Well first, what Mac have you got, what version of OSX and what card is in it now? Do you use it for rendering or for games? What is your budget? How long will you be using the machine for?
