I ordered my new Macbook Pro 13.3" (stock) on Thursday May 13th. They said they would ship within 24hrs. I come home from school on Friday and there is a message from apple calling to confirm my Credit card. I call them and they say they will release it for shipment and it will ship within 24hrs. It is not 1PM Saturday, Apple's order status is down for maintenance and I have no e-mails from apple. Will I receive an e-mail from apple? I was expecting to get my Macbook on Tuesday. =( All help is appreciated.

Thanks,
KG
P.S. I forgot to mention I am located in Canada.

Have you tried calling Apple to see if they can look up the info?

The order status site has been down since early last night (if not before), but I haven't called them to see if they can look thing sup.

Thanks for the quick replies! I'm loving this forum already!
Well, before it went down it said my Order would arrive to me by 18-21 May and that my package was "prepared for shipping." I got the expedited service so I am just waiting for them to ship.

I think you'll have to wait before you get the email. They don't ship on weekends ( as the above poster said.)

wait patiently...you'll get it:)

Hmm, I don't think you'll get it by Tuesday, unfortunately - probably Wednesday or Thursday. All of my Apple devices I've ordered from their online store always take a similar route: China => Anchorage, Alaska => Louisville, Kentucky (UPS' main shipping hub) => my local UPS sorting center in Toronto. I don't know how UPS ships things from China to western Canada though ... so if you live in the West, it may not need to go down to Kentucky.

My MBP took about 24 hours to clear Canadian customs (this was a year ago), for what it's worth. It took 5 days in total once Apple marked it as shipped, and that's just with standard shipping.

edit: I just checked my iPod's shipment, which took a similar route, and it also took 5 days with standard shipping.

I live in Waterloo, close to Tdot.
I really hope it doesn't go to Alaska then down to Kentucky and then back up. That's just wasting my time. I just called Apple and they cant tell me because their servers are down. :(

Just got this e-mail from apple.

Hmm, that's strange. Maybe Apple was verifying that you're a student (assuming you purchased your MBP through the education store), but I didn't think they did any checking whatsoever. Or maybe they're just letting you know that they've verified your CC info, and the email was delayed because Order Status was down over the weekend? But that's just speculation... who knows what that email was really about.

Anyway, it's Tuesday... so what's the status? :)
