looking for multiplayer games, carcassonne?

I have my first iphone and im looking for some good multiplayer games, the kind where i play random people.
I was thinking of games like words with friends, where its played at whatever pace your turns are taken at (so im not obligated to play an entire game in one sitting).

I was looking up reviews and found "Siegecraft TD" and also found "Carcassonne" which seems sweet but its 10$ so does anyone know if its played like WWF, or if its more of a sit down and play for 30 min type of game?

Otherwise im open to all suggestions

First if all congratulate on your first iPhone purchase...

Then what types of game are you playing most often... I think there are bunch of racing game with multiplayer mode.

well its also my first smartphone of any kind, so im just getting into the scene but im obviously aware of some things. I played word with friends on other peoples phones.
I think that style is what im after, the back and forth playing when you're able to, type of game.

In general i like board games/ strategy games.
