Looking for news app

Heyho

Looking for an iPhone (3GS, iOS5) news app which can cache news feeds, i.e. capable of downloading complete news articles for later use while on the road and when access to Internet is slow or impossible. I need a UK-focused app (i.e. "local" news should be UK news, rather than US).

Any ideas would be most welcome.

I think your best bet is to use an RSS reader and find RSS feeds for the news you want. Look for a RSS feed reader that can DL and cache the articles like you want. I know ByLine does this.

You can use Google News to create an RSS feed of local news also.

If you don't want to mess with RSS, Instapaper can be used to save articles for reading on an iOS device, but isless automated than RSS.

I think the BBC News app fits your qualifications. It's perfect for offline reading and of course BBC has a great focus on UK topics
