Hello,

I'm looking for a good project management software for OS X.

I currently have to work a lot with M$ Project, but its ****.

Of course I could install VPC and then use Project on the Mac as well (or KIDASA which is much better) but maybe there is a good app for the Mac as well.

Thanks for your help
Cheers

I spent ages trying to find a project management solution for our studio and this is perfect for our needs. Hope it helps.

Hello,

thanks for your reply. I'm mainly looking for a tool to track the project status of complex technical projects, like developing and introduction of new powerbooks.

That means having a task list with owners, start and end dates, owners, pre- and sucessors and a graphical view of the project.

Cheers

FastTrack Schedule 8 is what you are looking for. It is even compatible with Project.

There are even versions for Palm - MS can't touch that!

Umm. Wow. Gee, I hope not. I'm addicted to it.

Hmm. Additional impetus to "eat my own dog food" and invest in FastTrack.

Have a look at Open Source - I think it's called Openproj or ProjectLibre. Haven't used it, but will be.

Have used the 30day trial of Fasttrack and it is good.

There is OmniFocus and xPlan. I have xPlan because it goes on sale a lot for quite cheap (I think I got it free). OmniFocus is by the same company that makes the Visio substitute that everyone raves about, so I would expect quality from them.

Update : There are three decent looking project management software packages that are open source.

* OpenProj (listed above)
* ProjectLibre (they make the OfficeLibre also, been around a while)
* ]project-open[

My questions answered ! Just ten years later :D:D:D

Now thats what I call an old thread !

Btw - funny thing that I just searched today for an answer to that question from ten years ago because I need to open a Microsoft Project File (the latest version of Project) and I still only use Macs.. I will use most probably just that on a VMWare Win 7 installation.
