Could someone please help a novice? I pre-ordered my iPhone 12 Max this morning and when it got to the step to “prepare for carrier activation”, it kept coming back and saying, “could not contact Verizon”. It gave me the option of continuing with the order, but I would have to contact Verizon to activate the phone. 1) Will the phone arrive with a sim card in it or do I need to obtain one from Verizon? 2) When I power on the phone, will it instruct me when to contact Verizon? I think I can activate a new device on the Verizon website, but I’m not sure exactly when in the process I should do that. Thank you for any help.

If you are already a Verizon customer with a working phone, I would put your old SIM in the new phone to get it activated, and then ask Verizon for a new SIM, should you wish to use 5G, as Apple and the carriers have said that you should get a new 5G SIM. Your experience may vary etc.
