I can't find this game for under $90 and the expansion for under $69! I need it for PPC. Been playing AoE II and a friend wants this version. Why is this game so rare?

Isn't Empire at War like the new Galactic Battlegrounds?
But I don't really know, I haven't played either of them ... yet? :D

It's sorta like Battlegrounds, but it's Intel-only, and he needs a PPC-native game.

Thanks guys. I guess AoE II it is. And yes I have some old Macs. Thats how I can afford 4 of them. If anyone does ever decide to sell this battlegrounds they could probably make a pretty penny ;)

Found one...

Hey I found one on eBay for 40. It does not work so well with leopard (unless you know a trick) that I think people were just getting rid of it. also try Half.com

The trick is to install the update and then to get around the 256 color mode issue is to hold down the option key when loading it, uncheck change mode when paying movies and uncheck the 256 color mode. Works fine then. If you find it and have leopard or snow leopard, it does work.

Resurrecting this thread.

I do have both SWGB and the Clone Campaigns, both run fine in Snow Leopard.
You need to install a software update patch.
It seems that Aspyr no longer supports this gamw.

I love battlegrounds, altho i wish i had the clone wars expansion. ><

Installed the game, runs fine. Although i cannot get it to update to 1.1.1. Says could not locate a match for a search specified by the installer. Installation cannot continue. Some reason it cant find the folder that its installed in.

What patch are you reffering to?

Interesting. I've still got my install discs around, and it would be fun to play again. Do you have to find the patch online or install it automatically through the game?
