What do you mean by “clean”?

Don’t do that. Go into system settings > general > storage and start looking at stuff to delete. The computer will give you recommendations.

A couple of free utilities that can clean out the "cruft" (which is what I think you want to do):
- OnyX
- PrettyClean

Try them both.

Well delete stuff that accumulates in the HD that is not being needed. Free some HD space. That's what I mean by clean. I think it's a common term used among computer users.
