Thank you so much in advance. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm looking for a new desk for my 27 inch iMac. I've done a search on the forums and have found nothing helpful. These are my hopes:

1. Solid hard wood - no particle board, etc.
2. Simple design - I do not want too many drawers or doors, an open bottom would be nice but not mandatory.
3. Technology kept in mind - grommets, wire managers etc. would be a big plus.
4. Large working surface - I would like a simple flat working surface. I do not need any cabinets above the work surface.

Sorry if I sound whinny or particular. When it comes to furniture I like simple and functional design that is also warm and does not look too techy or modern(I loathe ikea). This actually seems to be a tall order when it comes to a computer desk. Thanks again.

I had pretty much the same requirements for my 27" iMac and ended up buying this from crateandbarrel a couple of weeks back: http://www.crateandbarrel.com/family.aspx?c=14236&f=30921

Doesn't have any cable mgmt but iMac looks beautiful on it - nice fusion of old and new :)

Wow, that is pricey. I am personally a fan of Ikea. They have a few solid wood top options and many legs to choose from.

Here are a few of the solid wood tops:

I personally went for the top that uses particle board:

When I get a place that has a bigger office, I will likely get the solid wood top. However, the Furuskog wasn't available when I bought mine which is the same size.

I went with this legs:

Incredibly sturdy and they look great.

For cable management, pop one (or two) of these on:

I have had my desk for almost two years and it still looks great. The whole setup was around $150. A solid wood setup would be about the same or less depending on the size you choose.
