Looking for webcam software to use with my brother

My and my brother both have macs and cable internet and he lives far away and we were trying to use ichat-video chat. and after 5 seconds of watching live feed, it getts very laggy and I cant see anything. Its like 1 frame per 5 seconds. Is thieir any other software besides ichat that works or is their something wrong im doing. Thanks

As much as I love iChat, get skype www.skype.com.

It is all-round easier to use and more reliable.

It may not be iChat that's the problem; it could be the network (and likely is). Depending on routing and other traffic, you may not have the bandwidth sufficient to the task. Do you have the same issue all times of day/day of week? Or, does the frame rate have times where it improves noticeably over others?
