Hi,
So there's this store near where I live that sells a bunch of used iPhones. Since they're being sold by a store, how would I go about checking for a clean imei?? I'm not sure if the store checks before they buy them.

Hi,

I don't have any experience in this, but from the previous threads I've seen folks talk about trying to use the phone with the carrier you're going to use or contacting them. The third party IMEI checkers can be unreliable. If it's running iOS 7, make them erase it before you buy it so there's no risk of it being activated locked.

I don't have any links handy so with best intentions I'll suggest a quick search of the forum for IMEI and see what the experts have said.

If it's a legit store get their return policy and tell them about your concern before your purchase. They won't mind and will be able to ease your mind. If you aren't comfortable with what they tell your or try to do, don't buy there! :)
