Hi. I mainly edit HDV, and I am looking to extend my viewing space and have a second monitor for editing in FCP- was wondering if any of you movie makers have any suggestions?

I have a MBP 15.4 at the min. I was going to get a HDTV now I have turned my attention to LCD displays. Was looking at this.

Anyone have any suggestions on what to look for or positive/negative experiences?

Ok. any monitor will due. I'll get to that in a second.

Hooking it up to an HDTV is insane. It's so big to use for the timeline and stuff, no way.

Any monitor will due for editing because you aren't color correcting it off it. You need a $6k monitor to color correct off of. I work in a real production house and we use any kind of monitors, but have EXPENSIVE reference monitors.

The acer 24 is fine, i have a pair of 22"s for my mac pro. If you want an el cheapo way to preview video... hook your camcorder up to a tv. It's cheap and has shoddy color reproduction... but its cheap.
